JOINT NSW VIC T&S PHONE HOOKUP
We are joining with our fellow workers in Victoria in a regular telephone hook-up. John Ellery (Vic Branch Secretary) hosts this meeting. I will also attend. All members welcome to phone in.
TELSTRA PROTECTED ACTION - HOOK-UP TUESDAY - 16 APRIL - 7.30pm
Dial In: (03) 8687 0635 or (02) 9696 0774 Guest Code: xxxx#

TELSTRA - NEW STOPPAGES
Members are directed to engage in 3 periods of work stoppages - starting 7.00 am to finish 8.00 am on these days - Tuesday 16th, Wednesday 17th, Thursday 18th April. Each stoppage will be a maximum 60 minutes duration, and apply to staff who have a work provided vehicle and are dispatched via an automatic dispatch terminal. See the Current EBA Action

TELSTRA PHONE TRACKING CONCERNS
Some members are concerned about Telstra tracking their movements on the Samsung S9 handset. The phone has "always on" tracking to allow Telstra to track the phone location at all times. There is also concerns about whether personal data can be captured by Telstra. We will approach Telstra seeking explanations and whether tracking can be turned off.

CWU T&S REJECTS AMALGAMATION WITH PARRAMATTA POSTAL BRANCH
The NSW Postal Branch recently proposed an amalgamation of several branches to make the union "stronger". Our Committee of Management has rejected the offer for a number of reasons. First, we believe that the union should be organised around 2 divisions - a Postal Division and a Technical & Telstra/Optus Division. The current structure with postal officials dominating doesn't work. An ED Board (Hon Wayne Haylen QC, Dr Michael Easson AM, Mr Mark Lennon, 18 Dec 2017) found : (the evidence), did paint a gloomy picture of a dysfunctional office wracked by personal and possibly other differences... The EDB feels compelled to comment.. It is clear that the (CEPU Communications) Division cannot continue to operate on the basis disclosed by the evidence.

OPTUS MEETING
We are seeking a meeting with Optus this week to discuss the issues from members at Belrose. These issues have been raised locally without a suitable response. At this stage we have no date.
