KTTU members on 3 May 2001 commenced long strike action to protest the spin out of the directory assistance call centre known as "114". The 600 staff, all women, occupied the head office of Korea Telecom for over 6 weeks, 24 hours per day.
The strike ended on 16 June 2001.
