CWU T&S WEEKLY BULLETIN NO 2021 /
19
15 May 2021
POST EBA
Negotiations commenced this week with little to report. (Technical staff are not represented by the T&S Branches). The discussions were dominated by the important issue of starting times for delivery staff. Post must be taking a hard line. Bargaining agents are meeting separately to represent technical matters.
PAYING FEES
Covid has prompted certain changes in the way we operate. Working from home and our part time staff arrangements appear to work reasonably well. One change which appears to be working well is the ability for you to pay by phone using a credit card.
We invite you to pay fees by phone using a credit card. We need you to provide the card number, expiry date and the amount to be paid. Call either of the phone numbers below. Remember that union fees are tax deductible.
MIRAIT EBA
We have not been able to resolve the issue of pay. The main concern of members is the 4 year agreement and the uncertainty associated with inflation over that time. This is important as all staff are paid above the EBA rates and the EBA does not guarantee an actual pay rise
POST SPF ISSUES
The various matters were subjected to further conciliation last Thursday. The outcome was very positive and we will again ask members to consider the proposed agreements. The FWC asked us to consider some suggestions and amend the proposed agreements as appropriate. The proposals will put in place a system which deals with two bullying matters, overtime allocation and shift swaps. We should be in a position later this week to provide the draft for your consideration.
