WHAT AN ELECTION - ACTU
Yesterday, Australia voted. And today, Australia has woken up to a new Federal Government. Last night's election outcome is a win for workers across the country. But it's not the end of our campaigning efforts. It's a new beginning.
TPG EBA TALKS
The negotiations continue as we work through each clause in the proposed EBA. TPG has agreed to separate the technical and IT staff from the general EBA. Therefore the general EBA will cover Contact staff (about 220 staff), Retail Staff and Logistics (about 50 staff). The talks will resume on Tuesday 31 May.
TPG EBA TALKS - TECHNICAL IT STAFF
The Technical and IT staff number about 120and 750 each. Both groups now are one division in TPG covered by Technical and Professional Awards. TPG wishes to finish the general agreement first. Our Technical staff need to organise here so that each group is represented and their issues addressed. We already have a number of matters to resolve. These include: - Car and mileage allowances - Travel allowances - Tool allowances - Redundancy - Salaries and other allowances.
TELSTRA SEC DISPUTE
Just a note to say that we await the decision of the Fair Work Commission.
BRANCH AMALGAMATION - UPDATE
Following our survey last year, we set out to implement the proposal to amalgamate with the Vic T&S Branch. The motions and Rules are being processed through the layers of CEPU. Once the final decision within CEPU is made, we will submit the proposal to the Registered Organisations Commission. Amalgamation is still months off.
