TELSTRA EBA CLAUSE 58 END OF DAY PROCEDURES

We get a number of inquiries about end of day procedures. We believe that the following rules apply. If you have not been paid in accordance with these rules, please contact me (return email).
The EBA clause states:

Employees to whom the above provisions apply will be expected to travel for the same time period (unpaid) described above in order to return home at the end of each day.
Where travel will exceed this travel time the employee should contact their supervisor/Work Management Centre as necessary due to local circumstances, to seek direction on whether they should leave early or overtime should be worked.
The focus is on travel time only.
If travel time exceeds 30 minutes then you are to be paid overtime.
If travel time is less than 30 minutes, then no deduction from time is to be made.

TELSTRA REDUNDANCIES AGAIN

Telstra announced further redundancies as a result of restructuring following the split of the company. Telstra estimates 115 redundancies. Here are short extracts from the Telstra explanation:

Field Workforces

We are proposing to bring together Field teams in Global Networks & Technology (GN&T, formerly N&IT) and Wideband construction in InfraCo, and our GBS Field Services workforce.
This proposal would result in the Wideband work of 101 roles from InfraCo transferring to the new Field Services team in Global Business Services to carry out this work. The 101 roles would consist of 5x Band 3i Team Leader roles and 96 Constructor Operatives (Band 3ii/4i; CFW 4, 5, 7).
To facilitate the move of Wideband work from Telstra InfraCo to Telstra Limited, we propose to utilise clause 50 of the Telstra InfraCo Enterprise Agreement 2022-2024, `Moving within the Telstra Group'. As we are only proposing to move Wideband work, in accordance with clause 43.4 We would:
First ask for volunteers from the InfraCo Field Delivery teams who want to receive a `Suitable Offer' from Telstra Limited to transfer to the integrated field workforce in Field Services.
If we receive or accept fewer than 101 volunteers, then we would select the balance of employees to receive a `Suitable Offer' from Telstra Limited based on the skills and experience needed..
If there are more than 101 volunteers, we would make a selection from this group based on skills and experience to decide who would receive a `Suitable Offer' from Telstra Limited.

Consumer and Small Business (C&SB)

Telstra Retail and Regional
There are currently 189 Retail Operational Specialist roles, that support 298 stores and undertake most of the store operational work, including inventory management and compliance.
To improve efficiency, streamline processes and improve compliance and operating standards, it is proposed to take these roles out of individual stores and move to a centralised operations model. The model will be supported by 83 new roles, including Regional Operation Specialist roles that will support a region of stores to assist with the onsite functions, central Inventory Management and Compliance and Retail Business Operations Support roles.
As a result, the Retail Operational Specialist roles across Australia (both regional and metro), will no longer be required.
