OPTUS/CWU EBA 2012

Optus EBA Home


The current Optus EBA ends on 21 Oct 2012. The replacement EBA should begin on 21 Oct 2012. The first step towards a new EBA is the formal issue of a bargaining notice by Optus.

CWU is automatically your default bargaining agent. We are now formulating your log of claims and this will be based on survey results.

Message from Dan Dwyer, CWU National Secretary

We are soon to commence the process to negotiate a new EBA. Our goals includes the certification of an EBA commencing on 21 Oct 2012 accompanied by an immediate pay rise.

The outcome will depend on many factors, the most important being you. This is collective bargaining and your involvement improves our bargaining power.

The EBA is a major event for our Union. We will spend many thousands of dollars negotiating the EBA. It will benefit directly every employee of Optus.

We cannot do this without bargaining power. This comes from a strong and active membership. Our last resort is industrial action. Our first resort is bargaining.

The first step you can take to ensure that we achieve a proper outcome is to ask your fellow workers, if they are not members, to join you and me as a CWU member to put us in the best position to bargain.

Lets bargain from a position of strength. United we win, divided we beg!
