TELSTRA TALENT REVIEW
We met with Telstra this week and sought further explanations. We asked several specific questions:
1 Do staff have to participate?
2 Why is there a rating by local managers?
3 What will the rating be used for?
Telstra were not able to answer the questions. Telstra is arranging a further meeting so that we can get the explanations.
N&IT AGILE INTRODUCTION
We met with Telstra this week and obtained further information. We were particularly interested in the need for staff to provide an expression in interest in the senior roles. Telstra said that leadership roles will increase as follows:
Band 1 from 24 to 33 roles
Band 2 from 82 to 133 roles
Band 3i from 11 to 16 roles
All roles are expected to be filled from within. As a result Telstra says that staff will stay at same level or be promoted to a Leadership Role (Chapter Lead). If you are not interested, you will stay at current level. There are still jobs (as Product Owner) and Telstra says that there will be no redundancies.
POST - END THE PAY FREEZE
The resignation of the CEO over a relatively small matter hides the bigger issue of remuneration in Post. Why do we have a pay freeze when the big bosses are reportedly getting massive bonuses?
